My students attend a small rural community school. My students are in grades 6th and 7th and want so much to have the opportunity to be in band and perform music but many do not have the financial means to purchase instruments and the extra supplies necessary to excel in instrumental music..
Each day, my students grow further as musicians.
This is their first and second year in band and they are working hard to attend festivals and competitions this next Spring. Our students are very excited about the opportunities in music performance including playing at concerts and festivals while representing their school with pride. Our goal is to learn the basic music fundamentals.
My Project
Our school band program is growing leaps and bounds, but they need sheet music so they may perform different styles of music.
Our Band loves to perform and would like to perform pop themes for their Spring Concert.
These music selections will provide students with an opportunity to perform new music spanning the Pop, Broadway, Rock and Roll genres of music. Students will be able to perform concerts and participate in festivals and competition to showcase their performance abilities. In addition, the new music will strengthen their current performance skills as well as help each performer reach new heights of performance.
