My students are amazing! They love exploring their environment and learning new things. I teach at a Title I Star School where more than seventy-five percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-price meals, and twenty percent are English Language Learners. Our students come from diverse backgrounds including English Language Learners, military families and students currently experiencing homelessness. Our class has many diverse learners including students with special needs.
Our students are excited to learn and I want to give them the best possible school experience.
In addition to the school curriculum, my students are learning kindness, patience, and understanding towards all students with various abilities. I want my students to strive for the best and to keep their love of learning alive as they continue in their education. I hope my classroom is a safe place where we can learn and share together.
My project includes basic classroom materials that will help me to create more hands on center activities for my Kindergarten students. Our curriculum requires us to create engaging learning games for math that supports our curriculum and financial literacy skills such as number sense, adding, and subtraction. By printing the materials on cardstock and laminating them, we will be able to use the games in the future.
The games created will reinforce our curriculum and Kindergarten standards.
The chart paper will be used during whole group and small group instruction. The cardstock, laminating film, scissors, magnets allow me to make fun station games that support our learning. Everything will be labeled and stored in the plastic bags. The table easels will be used to create anchor charts during small group and whole group instruction. Our students love to play educational games and I know that these materials will help me in supporting their curiosity and desire to learn.
