Inside our room you will find a wide variety of students: students from fourteen to eighteen, students ready to complete their educational journey and students just finding solid footing in education. Some students are facing challenges including educational labels, special needs, poverty and challenges that come with being a person of color.
In our room you will also find joy, laughter and a world of potential.
I want to help all my students realize their full potential, teach them new skills and gain confidence to pursue their post secondary aspirations.
My Project
The supplies will help students learn about differing women's work and how women can be economically independent.
Students will study how beading and beading work has helped many women become independent, stay out of poverty and help raise their families.
Quilting work has a long history and resistance quilts helped women in slavery reach freedom. Snacks will be there to fuel them and make their brain work better. Many students rely on school and school food for their daily meals. Having snacks later in the day helps them to work without feeling hungry and allows them to have different food.
