My Students
My students are fun loving, hardworking kiddos, who always give it their all. They love hands on learning, working in groups/on teams, and using their creativity to fuel their learning.
My students constantly remind me why I became a teacher.
They are always willing to try new things and are happy to provide me with feedback. They are driven and full of energy which propels them forward in their education. They truly are an amazing group of students and I'm so proud to work with them everyday.
My Project
Flexible seating seems like the latest fad but it truly makes a difference in learning. When students get a say and are able to make a choice that is most comfortable for them, they exceed expectations. In my classroom, I want students to have a choice and to be able to take ownership in their education.
I'm really looking forward to providing my students with new opportunities in my classroom.
The items that I have chosen for my classroom will allow students to feel comfortable and empowered. By having a place that is comfortable for them, they will harness their creative energy and use that to help them learn and be successful in fifth grade.
Exercise balls and wiggle seats will allow students the opportunity to move while working in a way that is comfortable for them and not distracting for other students. Tall stools will provide students will a comfortable seat at a tall counter or table that is in a different position and will allow them to have a different perspective on their work. Shorter stools will give them the opportunity to work at a regular table but still give them a different support than regular chairs. A bench will give my students the opportunity to sit up higher when we're at the rug in case that's not something that is comfortable for them. Finally, clipboards will provide students with a surface to work while they are using different forms of seating.
I'm really looking forward to providing my students with new opportunities in my classroom!
