Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My job at is to provide a nurturing and fun climate with high expectations for ALL students. I have been privileged to work at my school for 20 years teaching Kindergarten and First Grade. Most students at my school are English language learners and are economically disadvantaged. We do not have a strong Parent Organization and are given very little classroom money for the school year. I purchase the minimal essentials for the year, but desire educational supplies that will enhance ALL student learning. Within my classroom, there are students with significant speech issues, behavior problems, second language learners and learning disabilities. I want different kinds of educational supplies to reach all kinds of student learning.
My Project
Fun and engaging activities will provide motivation and excitement in learning. I want to update my classroom stations with learning games that promote speaking and listening between partners. New music will help in learning sight words, rhymes, English language and just having fun singing. Organizational containers will help students keep track of their assignments and activities. I want educational activities so students will be motivated to learn and play together. Students will love getting STEM science activities. They will work and create together building and using language. Donating these products will help my disadvantaged students have better opportunities to learn and grow. My desire to have a fun and an engaging classroom environment is key to student success in my room!
