I teach two groups totaling 40 adventurous first-grade students math and science They are always eager to learn! My students love hands-on activities that build relationships with their classmates. We explore math and science together using engaging techniques. We rely on structure, communication, and each other to seek all that first grade has to offer.
My students are curious.
Their favorite activities are ones that challenge them to think outside of the box! Creating, investigating, and testing hypotheses pique their interest. They are always eager to push boundaries to learn as much as possible.
My Project
When students arrive at school, they come to my classroom where they are required to sit at their desks until the bell rings to begin class. Often times in the south we have rainy afternoons that require students to have inside recess. During this time, they color and chat with their classmates quietly. I would love to be able to provide more educational activities that offer students opportunities to create and engineer masterpieces!
STEM bins are filled with different types of hands-on manipulatives that allow students innovative ways to push the limits of science.
First graders are full of energy and need creative and educational ways to discharge that built up energy. STEM bins allow students to work independently or with classmates to dive into the engineering world to understand the laws of physics.
