Ms. Leslie from Jamaica NY is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the da Vinci Mini Wireless 3D printers to develop their engineering skills. My students are engaging in a PBL unit that challenges them to create blueprints of their personal inventions.

Our students are fun-loving, energetic, and eager to learn Prekindergarten through Third graders, who attend school in an urban setting. We are focusing on integrating STEAM throughout our daily instruction, so that all students are exposed to a wide variety of challenging topics. We strive to meet our students' needs through project based learning and rigorous curriculum.
Our school is a school of excellence where children can achieve their full leadership potential in academics and creativity thus becoming lifelong learners prepared for the 21st century and beyond
My students will be embarking on a journey to become future Engineers and Inventors. We will be partaking in a Project Based Learning unit on entrepreneurship, where the students will be creating their own products that should solve a real world problem. Students will follow the engineering and design process to create a blueprint of their invention. The 3D printer will be an essential part in the students building their prototype. They will then have to create a pitch about their product and present to their peers and other audiences describing their product and why it is the best and should be created in mass production.
My goal is to build my students 21st century skills so that they are prepared for the future careers in the real world.
In addition we work to have a multi-sensory approach to our instruction. This type of learning accesses all students needs. In our classroom we are enriched with vocabulary, visuals, and hands-on experiences for my students.
This 3D printer help create this multi-sensory approach, hands-on experience, for our students. The students are excited about building their inventions!
