Help me give my students Legos for STEM Education and Lego Literacy in the classroom and paper trays to help students become more responsible and organized when turning in their completed masterpieces!
My class is a class of 32 enthusiastic learners who come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. The majority of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and many of them have already experienced homelessness at one point in their lives. Our classroom is our home away from home. We all come together as a community for lessons and fun activities. However, our resources are limited. We are in need of tools to help meet the needs of each individual learner in our classroom.
In our classroom, we are one big family and we are part of a larger school community.
Some students struggle with daily academic skills, especially those students who find traditional learning activities difficult or who are learning English as their second language. This year, our school is starting a STEM initiative through the use of project-based learning opportunities. This will help the students to grow their problem-solving skills in a hands-on way with real-world experiences. It will help them to build their cooperative learning skills and become outside the box thinkers. My students need the option of fun, alternative activities and lessons to support their learning styles.
My Project
These classroom supplies will help our daily activities run much smoother! Having two sets of LEGO building blocks will allow my students to complete engaging STEAM activities. Students will be able to construct buildings, houses, communities, and more. More students will be able to participate in LEGO-based activities since there will be more materials to go around. The paper storage trays will keep our classroom looking neat and tidy! These paper trays will help my students to learn responsibility and build organizational skills. Color coded paper trays will help students easily differentiate where their work should be turned in based on the color of the paper tray. They match other bins we have in our classroom, which makes the classroom look less distracting for students too.
These learning materials will allow for continued success in our classroom and beyond.
