I have 20 students in my first grade class. They are such a smart, creative, and active group of kids. I am blessed to be able to teach them every day.
My school is a Title One school, which means most of our students are on free or reduced-priced lunch.
Many of our kids do not have the best home life, so our school is their security and they rely upon us every day.
We are also a school of the arts. This means we have Drama, Dance, Music, P.E., and Art as their specials. We also incorporate all of these elements into our daily lesson plans. It would not be unusual for you to walk into my classroom and hear my students rapping about double facts and acting out prepositional phrases. I would not want to work anywhere else!
My Project
Help my students open their minds to the world of STEAM through morning brain break tubs. These tubs will be filled with fun and engaging materials for students to utilize in the morning.
Research shows that students need time for play!
I know that without time for unstructured inquiry, imaginative play, and an opportunity for students to develop social competency, we are doing our children a long-term disservice. .
These materials will be very beneficial in my classroom and will allow my students to use their creativity in an educational way. I would truly appreciate it if you donate to this project!
