In first grade my students are eagerly developing skills to become life-long learners. They come to school enthusiastic to explore and learn new things. At this point learning is new to them, and everything new we tackle becomes an adventure.
My students come from a small rural community and are excited to learn the exciting things that the world has to offer outside these community boundaries.
They love using creative ways to learn the skills they will need to succeed.
My Project
All students learn in many different ways. I believe it is important for each child to be given hands-on, creative learning experiences each day. It is my goal to assemble STEM bins for students to use daily.
These hands- on STEM bins would be used across curriculums to foster creativity and critical thinking in my students.
The activities in these bins would also serve as a way for students to develop teamwork skills, as well as, positive relationships with their peers. STEM bins would also allow students to develop design and engineering skills at the first grade level and beyond.
