In my STEM classroom, you will find children who are all unique in every way, but always eager to learn and excited to come to school. My students come to a school where they are supported and loved, and encouraged to do their best. These students are bright, young children who are discovering their love of learning, especially in the STEAM world. Everyday is a new adventure in my classroom.
Our school is a collaborate community of students and teachers following 4 core values on a day to day basis: Honesty, Responsibility, Respect and Kindness.
Our school is filled with children of all levels and needs and multiple diverse backgrounds who are enthusiastic to explore every day and soak everything in. They want to be computer programmers, scientists, teachers, authors, doctors, and veterinarians. My goal is to make sure that all of these options are open to them.
My Project
My 2nd through 5th graders love being challenged!! I want to encourage my students to experience various activities using the LEGO builders, STEM Challenge Kits, and Magformers. As 21st century learners, access to engaging STEM activities is essential and will hopefully lay the building blocks for future interests and careers.
Providing collaborative, brain-building activities will get my students engaged in STEM learning!
In my classroom, I want my students to focus on STEM and STEAM activities that will allow creativity, exploration, and imagination. I want to provide opportunities for children to experiment, design, and problem-solve in a hands-on way.
We will be able to work through these tasks on designated STEM Days, when students are given a chance to relax, play, and explore. They will practice solving problems with others in a team, sharing materials, and accepting the ideas of others.
