My Students

Early childhood education is my passion. I love seeing my students enter the classroom full of curiosity and wonder each and every day. What is truly unique about my students is that they come to us from all over the world. Majority of my students are learning English as a second language. Their unique cultural experiences allow us to explore and make sense of the world around us. My students enter the classroom as blank slates and exit as individuals embarking on their own educational journeys!

My Project

STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) is an approach to learning that guides students inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking skills. In order to effectively administer the STEAM vision students need proper materials to support their learning. Magnatiles allow students to manipulate the materials by engineering various creations, exploring the magnetic principles, identifying shapes, and coordinating colors. These materials allow children to take risks and explore the world around them while making meaningful connections. Students need exposure to different styles of learning and these materials will allow my students to manipulate their thinking be using their hands to create structures and organize materials.
