Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is made up of 20 amazing learners. They come to class ready to learn despite the obstacles they face prior to stepping foot in the classroom. We are a Title I school, and almost all of my students are English Language Learners. My students love coming to school because I make learning fun. My students work hard each and every day. Unfortunately, they need supplies that I can’t provide on my own. This includes STEM materials needed to learn, build, and create.
My Project
These amazing STEM kits allow students to become part of their favorite Fairy Tale stories. Using problem solving skills, students will build and invent ways to help storybook characters. Can they build a sturdy house for the 3 Little Pigs? How can the Gingerbread Man get across the river? These kits inspire teamwork and creative thinking. They allow students to become engineers!
Students love to build and create.
STEM projects allow them ways to demonstrate their learning in fun and engaging ways. These kits can allow all students to become better problem solvers and develop a connection to beloved Fairy Tales!
I hope that this project will help to inspire all of my students, especially my female students! My female students love Fairy Tales and I know that these materials will further excite them about science, engineering, and math.
