My students are a special bunch of kiddos, because these students come to me each and every day to learn strategies and tools to become more successful in the general education setting. My students are students with disabilities, ranging anywhere from speech impairments, to intellectual disabilities, to other health impairments that prevent them from learning in a general education classroom with their peers. These students are so very hardworking and truly come to my room and have the opportunity to feel successful because everything we do is tailored to their level! They come in confident, excited and ready to learn!!
The students that I work with and service on a daily basis are primarily kids that come from low-income, low socioeconomic families.
They do not always have the supports that they need at home and this can hinder their success in school. These students tend to persevere even without access to necessary materials, though this is one more area of struggle that they must face on a daily basis. Many of my students also do not have access to school supplies or technology. But one thing I know, is that these kids deserve the best chance we can give!
My Project
If my students could have access to these Chromebooks when they need to use technology, they could be so much more successful and confident with their math and science skills!!
Many students don't have access to anything like this at home, so they can't always do the research or complete the project.
No student should be less successful than another just because they are not given the same materials to access. If we had these Chromebooks in the classroom, students that don't have access to education would be able to change their education completely! I can't wait to see more success in their futures!
