My children come to school every day wanting to play and learn with their friends. Their faces say it all as they greet me, my aide, and the others in the room. They are happy to be here and ready to begin a new day. The majority of our students are English Language Learners that come from a low income environment. The project that I would like to get for them would give them the opportunity to extend their learning by applying it to an engaging activity.
There is no greater feeling than seeing a child thrive under your eyes.
You can see their excitement as they learn more and more for themselves, They begin to be more confident, more outspoken, and more determined to learn. I hear, "I did it," all the time.
My Project
We are requesting Create-A-Chain Reaction STEM Kit, Building Brick STEM Challenge Kit , building blocks and a Survive the Quake Engineering Kit. The materials that I would like to obtain for my classroom will enable my students to learn how the components of STEAM work together to provide valuable learning experiences. The children will be able to see how diverse subjects can combine to teach dynamic learning opportunities.
The children will be able to use the materials to provide hands-on opportunities to engage in new learning experiences.
They will have the opportunity to see how and why something works or does not work. They will be the scientists, the discoverers, and the momentum behind their learning.
These materials will provide the students in my classroom the chance to learn what every classroom should be learning in today's technologically oriented society.
