My students need one Chromebook at a time so we can acquire a small set of Chromebooks to get them into the hands of every child one step at a time in the field of STEAM.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from various cultural backgrounds: Africa, Iran, Afghanistan, India, China... and these are just a few. We are in a community school and funding right now is very tight. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful.
Our goal this year is to advance our learning using technology so that students can be creative within their teams and explore exciting and innovative ways to further their learning.
Children are our future. Why not give them an awesome start this year with technology!
My Project
As Susan Riley said, “STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses science, technology, engineering, art, and math as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.” This quote resonates with the students and I because it stimulates young minds with creativity as they discover amazing real world applications. By using a Chromebook in STEAM, the students will be able to actively pursue their learning with enthusiasm. They will be naturally curious to find solutions to real world problems. Engaging in inquiry based projects, students discover the amazing wonders through scientific exploration. Students learn best through trial and error as they try out new experiences in their learning. This self-guided discovery is the core to STEAM learning. It is important to get students to be motivated and persistent problem solvers. When children are actively involved in their own learning, they decide what to do and learn from what happens. When students become naturally interested in their learning, they develop theories, they test, and modify what happens on their own. This helps all students to build the necessary logical skills that are needed in problem solving. All in all, inquiry based learning encourages all students to learn at their own pace as they productively struggle through their own investigations.
This Chromebook will allow for me to foster the love of learning in the field of STEAM as they become young explorers.
Let’s steam ahead into technology with this rocking new chromebook!
