My kindergarten students come from varying backgrounds culturally and educationally. They come in to school excited about learning and figuring out the world around them. They are VERY curious! I love to see how much each and every child grows throughout the year and how I can help each student meet his or her goals and expand their thinking. My kindergarten students often do not have access to high quality STEAM materials at home and would love to give them access to these materials each day during center time.
Little ones enter kindergarten full of curiosity and wonder about the world around them. These specially selected STEAM activities and materials will provide daily hands on experiences to students to help enhance their education. They will learn teamwork and collaboration as well as trial and error, which are vital skills to help them develop into lifelong learners. With these selected materials, students will be able to design a variety of “roller coasters” using different piping on a magnetic stand up board, create pictures on a light up board peg by peg, and engineer houses, bridges, etc. using critical thinking skills.
Many of my urban students do not have access to these activities at home.
I would like them to have access to these critical thinking activities each day in their classroom. I am excited to see how students work together to solve problems and communicate new experiences and learning from interacting with these amazing STEAM materials.
