Help me give my students materials to do different engaging STEAM stations at our STEAM Night which will take place in April, 2020. Some items we will need are construction paper, glue sticks, tape, straws, etc.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My philosophy is a quote from Albert Einstein, "Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life believing that it's stupid." As a teacher, I nurture ones gifts while strengthening their weaknesses, so that they may grow confidence in learning.
Our students are smart, amazing, energetic, funny and willing middle school scholars, who want to learn and grasp the many adventures in STEAM.
I want to expose them to the many adventures and places STEAM can take them.
Our school has students that are varied academically; about twenty-five percent are special education students. I teach 100 students of diversified intelligence levels. However, the funding of this project will reach grades Pre-K to 8th grade. We are a school that is Title I, and we are in need of financial help. For example, science is a subject that involves lots of disposable tools that we must replace often. The majority of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. Even though our school has some limitations, our students deserve every tool and every opportunity that will enable them to be successful, excel, and flourish in everything that they do.
My Project
By donating to my project, you will help me expose my students and other students in my school to many Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) investigations. Each station will be geared towards a hands-on and engaging activity. The STEAM Night, which is our school's first, will happen on Earth Day. Therefore, we will educate families on how to save the Earth one person at a time. This opportunity will spark a fire of wanting to explore science when they grow up. My STEAM Night will bring families together to engage and be involved in their children's school lives.
