My Students

My students are wonderful, energetic group of learners who take pride in being in a zero waste class. They are eager to learn how they can make a difference in making the world a better place and have successfully done exactly that!. Over the last 5 years, through waste audits and rethinking their choices in classroom supplies, they have reduced their classroom waste to a one quart jar.

Sustainability class in which we discuss and plan ways to work together for a better future for our selves and our planet is the most popular topic for my students.

My Project

This trip will offer my students the chance to experience two days of work on a farm. They will connect with farmers, the land and one another and so be even more aware and connected stewards of our planet.

They will plan their meals (including all the math for the costs) and camping needs as teams.

In the experience, they will be responsible for all the meals both prep and clean up beyond their full days' work on the farm. Many students have never been to a large organic farm. This trip will build memories and connections that last a lifetime and change the way young minds see the food they eat.
