Where would students be without a safe place to go? I'll tell you, they would be exposed to things that you could not even imagine. This is why I teach-to give children a safe place to be where they feel loved and cared for. One of the things I take pride in is my students' respect for each other. Having a classroom community where everyone respects one another is very important.
My students are my joy.
I am very proud to watch them succeed in everything that they do. When you have taught a certain subject over and over again and the child finally "gets it," that's the joy I am talking about.
My students are from a rough background. Having to worry about where your next meal is coming from is very stressful on a family. Some students even act out, due to the uncertainty about what is going on at home. I love to have a classroom that is open and honest, where children can feel safe to grow as a whole child.
My Project
I am reaching out to ask for help with keeping my students full and happy throughout each school day. Some of my students come to school hungry and need extra support to get them motivated to learn. We will have snack open for children to eat when and as needed. This will teach responsibility on not taking too much and helping others out. Some may take a snack when they go home too. I work at a Title I district that provides free breakfast and lunch. We just need that extra boost to get us through the day. My kids are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, and I appreciate you caring just like I do!
