Help me give my students healthy snacks to fuel their bodies during the school day. Granola bars, breakfast bars, and a wide variety of healthy snacks give my students options to choose a snack they will enjoy.
My students are between the ages of eight and nine years old, and they represent a wide variety of academic abilities. Some students come to me with an extensive collection of resources and experiences to build from, while others are just beginning to "get their feet wet" in terms of learning to think outside of the box. They are eager to learn!
My third graders learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process and have ample opportunities to move.
They are active, curious, creative, and imaginative. They are independent and thrive with self-directed learning, but they are also learning to collaborate and communicate effectively with others.
My Project
I have a few students that are not prepared to come to school. Many students come to school hungry because they didn't have anything to eat before school. They also need some sort of snack to take home because they have very minimal food to eat at home. In order to provide healthy snacks for my students, I need a wide variety of snack options. I will give these snacks to students who do not make it on time for breakfast, and I will also provide snack each day for the entire class. Additionally, I will send home a snack for some specific children to have over the weekend.
Hungry students struggle to focus on their school work because their basic needs are not met.
This project will help my students to stay focused because they don't have to worry about the things they can not change. My goal is to have my students' needs met so they are happy and fulfilled, not just in my classroom, but also at home.
