Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

80% of our students come from low income families with very troubled home lives. I want to give students the opportunity to experience after school physical education programs and sports. To give them an escape from anything in their lives that may be troubling to them. I want this to be a time where kids can forget about everything else and have fun!

These kids deserve the world and I'd give it to them if I could but I'll start with this for now!

My Project

Sometimes the only food that students eat throughout the day comes from the school, breakfast and lunch with a healthy snack throughout the day! By providing the children with additional snacks and water/gatorade it will fuel their bodies and allow them to participate to their full potential without having to worry about being hungry before practices and games! The last thing these kids should have to worry about is when and what will they eat next.

Something as simple as a bag of pretzels or a granola bar before practice can give kids the energy to perform to their best ability!
