Our students are a diverse group. Kindergarten is a time to learn academic skills as well as social skills. We want our students to use technology to engage them and help them practice their reading, math and science. We also want books to help teach our students how to get along with other students.
Our students are active and eager!
They need many opportunities to learn in different ways and different contexts. The more we engage them the quicker they will learn.
My Project
Our students love to learn. However, their attention span is very short. Our challenge as teachers is to keep them motivated so they want to learn!
We try to keep our students engaged and motivated by offering many ways to learn.
By offering technology as a fun way to listen to reading as well as read stories at their level, it's another way to motivate students to read! Students can also use the requested iPad and Chromebook to play math games.
Our students also need to learn social skills. We need books to teach and model social skills as well as how to monitor one's emotions. Learning how to get along and be a positive member of society is an important part of Kindergarten.
