Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I have the honor of serving a population of students from a variety of social, and economic backgrounds. My goal is to provide students with a safe space to come to when they are hungry or need an extra boost during the day. More and more I hear students discuss the difficulties their parents are having at home with making sure some of their basic needs are being met. I see students that cannot afford school meals, yet they aren't eligible for free lunch either due to lack of parental follow-up or other circumstances. The great part is that we have the opportunity to change this together.

When we feed the body, we feed the mind!

We the mind is fed we can reach the soul. With all that is going on in the world, our young people should not have to worry about food insecurity. Partner with me to ensure that no student is hungry!
