I am fortunate enough to teach 24 active and inquisitive first grade students at a Title I school in Northern California. I want to give my students every chance to succeed.
My students are eager to grow and learn together.
They come from extremely diverse backgrounds. We are multicultural, from many different family make ups and varied economic levels, but mostly socioeconomically disadvantaged with approximately 80% of the students at our school qualifying for free or reduced lunch. With our challenges we always come together each year as a classroom community.
My Project
The Kindle provides many educational apps and games that will ignite an authentic enthusiasm for learning through technology. Using the Kindle Fire tablets during centers, my students will have differentiated access to materials that cover all curriculum areas: Reading, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Writing.
School may be the only place some of my students have the opportunity to engage in activities that involve the most up-to-date technology.
Receiving a Kindle Fire tablet will allow my students to access the world around them while playing educational games and activities, reading books, and researching areas that interest them. Please set my students learning on FIRE by funding our project!
