This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing! They often get counted out or not even thought about because of their situations and where they come from. I want to make sure we have the tools to make them successful students and future adults. I love my kids.
They make me excited to teach!
I want to give them the best I can every day because they give me the best they can. They are the reason I am a good teacher.
My Project
My students come to school ready to learn. They give me the best that they have every day. However, many of my students get hungry and sluggish as the day goes on. Being in one the poorest zip codes, economically, in Tennessee, many of my students do not have the funds to bring snacks to get them through the day.
These snacks will allow my students the ability to refuel and reenergize so they can continue to give all they have in their afternoon classes.
Snacks and water will help replenish their energy, efforts, and engagement. I have also requested a metal storage cabinet that would house all of the snacks for the students. This cabinet will allow me to make sure I have everything available for students throughout the day. Please support this project as it will support so many growing youth.
