My students are outstanding kids! They have overcome many challenges in their short lives and continue to face daily battles. Beginning August 2017, all Union County Schools started participating in CEP. In this program ALL students are now eligible to participate in breakfast and lunch at no cost. Some of my students are homeless, living with relatives or foster parents, or have lost a parent to death or incarceration. Many have faced abuse, neglect, substance abuse in the home, or have been present during traumatic events.
My students have been through a lot, and I am trying to find different ways to help them to become successful members of society.
They are caring, positive, and have so much potential to do great things in their lives.
My Project
All of our school population receives free or reduced lunch, so they are able to receive a healthy lunch each day. However, this does not provide a snack for them each day. It is important for our students to be able to be focused and not distracted by hunger.
All students deserve to know they can count on me to help them meet their needs.
Growing brains need fuel! With these materials, I will be able to create a snack closet to give to my students as needed. The selected materials will be able to provide over 500 snacks to my students! I have selected a variety of snacks to meet the likes of my children. These non-perishable snacks will last throughout the school year.
Thank you for supporting our students' learning and helping to meet their needs!
