My Students
I work with 100 amazing kindergarten and first grade students as an EL (English Learners) teacher. I co-teach content areas with four outstanding classroom teachers, and I also pull small groups of beginning level English speakers out for targeted instruction. My school is comprised of ~70% EL students. Many of our children are recent immigrants and are also adjusting to their new life in the U.S.
All students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch, and we rely on community partners to help provide school uniforms and supplies to families in need.
My students are eager to learn about the world around them and are hard workers.
My Project
Everyone deserves to have a warm and cozy sweatshirt on a cool day. Minnesota winters are long and can be very cold. My kindergarten and first grade students could really benefit from a sweatshirt they can keep at school to stay warm. I selected fifty simple sweatshirts that will be comfortable and also follow our uniform policy.
Please consider helping me keep little ones warm and cozy.
Many of my students have very limited access to clothing and they could really use a new sweatshirt to keep them comfortable. I am able to wash the sweatshirts at school as needed. I will distribute the sweatshirts to kindergarten and first grade children as needed and have them keep the clothing at school until the end of the school year.
