My students are hungry to learn to be better writers, and I have the some great ways to help them. They are a great group of students who are smart and ready to learn. They already have some great skills, and I can't wait to see what they might accomplish.
Unfortunately, we are not a wealthy community and a high number of the students are living in poverty.
So I need help getting tools into their hands. Onward and upward!
My Project
This project will help me to guide the students to becoming better writers. By using a writers workshop format, the students will copy techniques and skills that real authors use to publish their writing. This will increase interest and improve skills. More importantly, the students will realize that what they write matters!
The materials I am requesting will help them to organize their work so that they will have a writing portfolio spanning the whole year.
It will also be durable to last a long time. Some other items such as Post it Notes and tape are to help with the revising and editing steps so they can end up with a well-written project.
