From Who They Were to Who We Are

My students need nonfiction books to further their knowledge of historical fiction. The "Who Was" book series will fulfill this quest for knowledge.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are energetic, full of life, and they love to learn. They come from various backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultural experiences. Although they have distinctive qualities, one quality supersedes all differences. My students love learning, and they are always interested in learning new things. All my students eat free lunches and come from working class families. Some of my students participate in the Food Backpack program, where they take food home over the weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Project

The students will be able to read the "Who Was" book series and will not only further help them with comprehension skills, but it will also help enhance the students knowledge of historical events.

Having these books accessible to the students will allow them to combine reading and Social studies skills, which will increase their interest for learning.

Providing them with historical information that is fun for them read will encourage them to overcome the hardships in their lives using the power of discovery. Using these popular biography selections is an amazing way to include nonfiction reading for fourth graders.
