My Project

Hi, I'm a clerk turned English Teacher and have a class full of students that I have absolutely fallen in love with. The problem is seeing them struggling because of a lack of working supplies in our classroom. I work in an area that has a struggling economy, and sometimes it doesn't allow my students the luxury of always having supplies or having working equipment needed for their reading program.

I was the school clerk for two years.

I never thought I wanted to teach, but working so close to the students had such a major affect on me that I decided to give teaching a try. It hurts my heart to see my kids try so hard to get their computer work completed, but the bucket of headphones that were donated to me from the media center has more broken headphones than working headphones. I am also requesting a charging station with chargers so students can use their devices to complete lessons. I spend so much out of pocket for my students, so when a co-worker mentioned Donors Choose, I thought that I would check it out. Even if I only get one thing on my list, that would be one less thing that we'll need, so I appreciate any and all donations. I'm trying to make this first year, my best year. Thank you!
