From the Forest to the Moon Counts for College Credit Too
My students need authentic short novels in Spanish and advanced grammar workbooks to succeed in the AP Spanish Test.
"The limits of my language mean the limits of my world," Ludwig Wittgenstein said, and my students want to expand their lives and worlds by taking the most challenging class offered in high school: Spanish AP.
This year, fourteen high school students have decided to join this journey to navigate through the ocean of the Spanish language and culture.
Our journey starts in Texas, in a very diverse school where 33% of students are economically disadvantaged, but where 100% of students put their hearts in everything they do to make this world a better place to live.
I cannot take students to Spain, Argentina, or Costa Rica nor can I take them back in time, but you can. Every time students read a novel in Spanish in class, and every time students feel a mix of emotions when reading, it will be thanks to someone like you who believes in them and makes this possible. The grammar workbook will turn students into stronger writers, speakers and readers of Spanish. Students know that Spanish is hard, especially when their first language is English, but because someone believes they are worth it and donates books to them, they are going to succeed.
The novels in Spanish and the grammar workbooks will help my students drastically improve their Spanish.
J. Wittgenstein said "the limits of my language mean the limits of the world" but what he does not know is that because of kind generous donors like you, my students world will exist without limits.
