Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are all great individuals that have such great desire to keep learning and becoming better people. My students are all very hard-working youth and that is something I can see through their written assignments and it is also reflected in the way they carry themselves. Our school is located in a low income, and its mission is college for all, no exceptions. These children do the best with what they have at all times and it is my greatest desire to see them thrive in high school and eventually into college.
Some of my kids have to get dropped off at the school earlier than usual because their parents have to head to work to put food on their plates.
These children and their families go above and beyond to make education possible. I truly admire each and every one of them for their distinct characteristics and abilities. They all have an amazing futures ahead of them and I am thrilled I get to be a part of that.
My Project
Without a doubt, no one can deny that today's students depend on technology. Having students read a textbook and follow a PowerPoint is not enough for today. Many of my students love visuals and learn better that way thus, having the Oculus Virtual Reality Headset will bring the concepts, places, and ideas come to life. Bringing the world to the classroom and making it fun, creative, and attractive to all students no matter their way of learning. Students will get the opportunity to go on virtual field trips of their own choice and engage with the lesson in a more realistic way.
