Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my students are from low-income families and yet they strive hard to do great works in my class. They are a diverse group of students who love to learn and prepare themselves and their future. If you see them in my classroom, you will see their inquisitiveness and curiosity as well as their eagerness to help each other. It would be such a waste of talent if they are not given the best opportunity they could ever have.
My Project
Most of my students like arts - I see it in the papers they turn-in, their notebooks and binders. I would like for them to see the connection between chemistry and the arts that they do.
By PAINTING on WATER, we are going from STEM to STEAM as science explains what happens when they do their artworks.
They will be amazed at how they can explain their artworks using math and chemistry vocabulary as well as enjoy their project. They will learn, using a different approach, the concepts of solubility, dilution, density, surface tension, percent concentration, molarity, viscosity, turbidity and intermolecular forces. It's about time for them to enjoy after all the bombardment of atoms and molecules for the past months.
