My Students

We serve 140 kindergarten students who speak English as a first language. Over the past 2 years we have seen an increase in Spanish speaking students. I love all students and want them all to succeed. It would be beneficial as a teacher to have readily available items to help build communication skills among our Spanish speaking students and build their foundational skills so that they can learn and communicate more efficiently with other students. These visuals and hand ins activities will allow them to learn equally to others and possibly teach English students some Spanish in the process.

My Project

This project will help my Spanish speaking students learn English in a visual and hands on environment that is geared to bilingual students instead of English students only. It will offer various ways for the students to learn English and communicate with other children and teachers that only speak English. Often a language barrier is a great concern for parents/students/teachers. I want my students and their families to feel confident that their choldren’s needs will be met and understood in my classroom. The items provided through Donors Choice Donors will make these goals happen. Thank you to everyone for your support.
