This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have twenty-five first graders who are eager to learn. They love to come to school and the school year requires several supplies that will be used. Our school is a Title I elementary school in the California Bay Area. Supplies are in constant need of replenishing and donations from families are limited.

Children thrive with hands-on learning.

All of our students love to learn and I make it my goal to help them absolutely love coming to school each and every day.

My Project

Desks, or other tabletop spaces, are essential in a classroom. The hard surface allows students to write, manipulate items and more.

Students need classroom furniture that best meets their individual needs.

These desks provide just that. Students would be able to use the desk while in a sitting position. For the more active students, the desk can also be moved into a standing position. Students would use the desks as a workspace for math, reading, writing, science, and more.

These desks would allow for flexible seating. Students would have the option of sitting or standing while using the desk. The ease of adapting to student needs would allow for less interrupted time and more time for quality learning to happen.
