My students need a Pre-K Family Engagement Library focusing on Math, Reading, and STEM where parents can check out these engaging and high quality activities to do at home with their child.
This project expired on September 9, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
What makes our students unique in this pre-kindergarten classroom is that they come to us with a blank slate, and we fill their boards with academic knowledge. By the time they leave our classroom they are writing on their own slates. We are a Title I facility nestled in an urban community that serves the children in the neighborhood. Considering that we are a Cleveland public school, our neighborhood has more crime and homicide than the city’s statistics. With these odds, our scholars are still on time and ready to learn.
Many parents have asked for activities they can do at home with their child to best prepare them for kindergarten. In our Pre-K classroom, we don't believe in boring worksheets and we prefer to learn through play and exploring. These Math, ELA, and STEM Family Engagement Packs will provide the parents with activities to provide intervention or enrichment to their child. More importantly, families will be working together and having fun! There are simple directions in every bag for the parent to read. It takes the stress away and parents and puts the fun back in learning!
Lets connect learning from school to home!
Parents will be able to borrow the materials for as long as they wish. These materials will also be used for parent workshops, parent meetings and family nights!
It will be a conversation starter and a way to be exposed to high quality informational text.
