Help me give my students tablets and an LCD projector to move them beyond the covers of their workbooks as we continue our upcoming math topics.

The students at my school are genuinely unique, inquisitive, compassionate, creative, and intelligent young people. As Special Education learners, math skills are so important to my students and their future. I am a Special Education teacher at a traditional 6-8 middle school in an urban area of Southeast Louisiana near New Orleans. Our Special Education program is essential to my students’ goals and successes.
Many of my students do not have access to technology at home and rely heavily on our school’s technology resources.
We share resources among three inclusion math classes and my Special Education math pull-out class. This a challenge when teachers need to use the same materials during the same instructional times.
Several of my students have been in classes together since sixth-grade creating strong relationships. They both support and challenge each other every day. Energetic and curious, my students tend to be cautious with new math challenges. They are fearless when it comes to technology and, as students of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage our world.
In a continued effort to lessen foundational gaps and increase exposure to academic technology, our class would like to secure two additional tablets and an LCD projector.
My students love to show off and share what they know so, this project will allow my students to visually display their thinking.
It will also give them the chance for immediate feedback from myself and their peers.
In addition, these items will allow us to work on concepts beyond their math workbooks. They will also benefit by exploring various websites and online apps that can be projected from a laptop onto our whiteboard. There is so much potential for growth in my students and I would love to do everything possible to develop it. Your donation could play a huge part and making this happen!
