Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our district is small and our schools are Title 1 schools. The students in our district are all free lunch and breakfast. For many of our students, extra money to supplement school needs and school supplies is just not available from their families. Many of our students work very hard and dream of the opportunity for higher learning. I would like to help them reach their goals. I want to make sure that they have opportunities in the classroom to make it happen!

My Project

My students could really use dictionaries to help with translation.

Most of my students can't afford to buy dictionaries and our school district has limited technology, to which my students do not have daily access.

In addition, not every student has access to a smartphone. So it would be very beneficial for students to have access to a classroom set of dictionaries.

I want my students to enjoy learning French. A foreign language class can really open up the world to students, especially to students who have never been more than 100 miles from home. French class is a great way to introduce students to other cultures.
