My students come from a large, rural, neighborhood community about 20 miles north of a major city. Our community does a great job of partnering with our school. Even though we have great community support, we still need materials that will enhance our students' learning.
Butterfly kits allow Kindergarten students to experience the life cycle of a butterfly first hand and up close.
These kits will allow 10 different Kindergarten classrooms to watch in awe as the caterpillar spins its cocoon and then the exciting moment of when it emerges as a big beautiful butterfly!
My Project
These materials will make a difference in our student's learning by bringing the outdoors inside to the classroom. Students love to learn about insects and other living organisms. Butterflies are perfect for our students to learn about their life cycle.
It brings joy to teachers when he/she can captivate all of their students' attention.
We can do this by bringing in caterpillar eggs and watch them morph from eggs, to caterpillars, to pupa and then finally a beautiful butterfly. The students are truly mesmerized when they are watching what they will do next. Or watching their excitement when the caterpillar creates it's cocoon and not to forget the dramatic conclusion of the caterpillar as it emerges from its cocoon as a big beautiful butterfly!
Please help me create this experience for our students this year.
