From Corn to Computers, Support CS in Rural Indiana!
My students need Raspberry Pi 3 starter kits so they they may have a computer that they can build and program. These computers will expand their knowledge of computers through self exploration and problem solving!
Students at our school are itching for an opportunity to learn more about computers and computer science and with that desire we are rolling out a program that gives our students the ability to explore computer science and computing.
Even though these students come from a rural area, they desire to learn more about computer science!
Is there any better way to learn than to have the computer right in your hands? Our students look forward to that opportunity of being able to have a computer that they can self program and develop on their own. Our students understand the quality of jobs that will be available to them if they can learn more about computers and computer science.
These Raspberry Pi computers will be used by our Computer Tech Support and Computer Science classes to experiment and learn the processes of computing and computer science. Students will be challenged to self explore Raspberry Pi challenges and solve problems as they arise.
Students at our school learn best by having hands-on experiences--what better hands-on experience can they have than building and programming a computer with their own hands!
Our students are excited about the new opportunities that our Computer Science pathway has created. With these Raspberry Pi computers they can build and program their way towards preparing for A+ certifications and Network+ certifications. These are opportunities for high school students to graduate and head directly into the technology workforce! That is why these computers are so vital to our school.
