My students need gaff tape, a gaff gun, chair for set, blanket for set, polyfill, staple gun, staples, drill bits, batteries for mics, bluray player and speakers, and an organizer for papers.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very creative and extremely hard working. Many of my students have never had someone who believed in them. Through incorporating teamwork, geometry, communication arts, and theatre, my students have excelled in cross-curriculum education in my stagecraft class. The past few school years, DonorsChoose has helped my students bridge the curriculum barriers and even receive several nominations for theatrical awards in the Kansas City area. DonorsChoose has helped change their lives and helped give me additional supplies to assist in their education and success.
My Project
Life as a theatre teacher comes with a price, you need many nontraditional items for classroom supplies. For our upcoming spring play, we are requesting a chair and a blanket for set pieces and decor. For our upcoming spring musical, we are needing polyfill to create clouds to help make the scenes come to life. My students need new drill bits for set construction for both shows, and staple guns and staples for construction as well. We also need batteries for microphones so our actors can be heard. We need a player and speakers so our students can view films in class and listen to soundtracks to the musicals we read in class. We are in need of an organizer to help organize various papers and fliers for students for theatre.
