I am a Career & Technical Center teacher who has 65 students throughout my three classes. We are trying to elevate the CTE Culinary Arts Program within our school district. The students are excited and hard-working. Each of them has a great sense of humor and they make me laugh every day. We are excited to have fundraisers like our fall soup sale, holiday pie sale, Christmas cookie sale, etc. However, we can always use more help to get the items we need to make our program more successful.
We are a very low income school district where funding is necessary to the success of our students.
However, this is not always an easy road to navigate within the confines of our school district. I, as a teacher, feel the need to help us get the resources we need for success in any way that I can. It is important to me that my students leave my program as knowledgeable as possible and with the confidence to go into the culinary arts field knowing they have the proper training.
My Project
Most of these items are basic items my students use most in the classroom daily or for special projects. The lighting is for our restaurant attached to our Culinary Program. We have several broken lights that our school district does not have money to replace at the moment. As we are open to the public, I believe it gives a bad image of our school. We do the best we can and these students give it everything they've got. We deserve better. I am doing what I can to make our program the best in the area! I just need a little help.
