From a Seed to a Plant

Help me give my students the experience of planting seeds and watching them grow. The folding tables will be used to pot and store the flowers before sales and could be used for outdoor classroom activities.

My Project

My students are active learners. They thrive with project based learning and are very creative. To benefit our entire elementary school, my students created a store, The Hornet's Nest, for students to shop at on Fridays. The store helps them learn basic math and customer service skills. They also read to younger students as other students shop at their store.

To extend the impact of our store, we would like to utilize our school's new greenhouse.

In anticipation to spring, we would like to do a horticulture experience using the potting stations, starter kits and grass and flower seeds. The folding tables will be used to be stations from which to plant the seeds. They can also be used to store plants that are for sale once the seedlings have grown into plants. Our goal is to have a bountiful harvest to be sold in our Hornet’s Nest store!
