My students attend a K3 through eighth grade school. It's a very culturally diverse school in the inner city of Milwaukee, WI. Our school has roughly 500 students.
Each child comes to school eager and ready to be challenged and learn on a regular basis.
Unfortunately, due to budgeting, we have lost funds, and it has taken a toll on our classroom materials and resources. Regardless of the money, the students themselves are worth every cent and all of our efforts!
My Project
My students were graciously provided by our district with a completely new curriculum that covers all areas and preK skills. With these new ideas comes the need for additional materials that are needed to support the suggested activities and lessons.
I am requesting materials that will make the positive difference in the students experiences in the classroom by adding additional engaging learning opportunities.
Specifically we learn about 3D shapes, therefore the tub of shapes will support this skill and provide hands on materials they will be able to physically manipulate and support their understanding and knowledge. As well as the measurement centers. They will be additional supports to the mathematics skills of weight, length, and other fundamental lessons.
The final request is for a water table kit. Our classroom has a sensory table that we use every day to develop our mathematics and science concepts. This particular water kit will be an exciting resource that will be used by the students to engage and creatively explore.
