My Students

I teach 5th grade at an A+ School in North Carolina. An A+ school combines interdisciplinary teaching and daily arts instruction, offering children opportunities to develop creative, innovative ways of thinking by learning and showing what they know through the arts and by their multiple intelligences.

Students get excited about hands-on learning through the arts.

My goal in my classroom is for learning to be a daily adventure where every student can explore new things and ideas with curiosity and excitement. To create an exciting learning environment, my students need various creative classroom tools and learning opportunities.

My Project

My students have never had the experience of dissecting a frog, with your help, you can make that happen. Students have been learning the body systems in science and this first-hand experience will be something that they will never forget.

Students learn better when they can touch something, verses learning about it in a text book.

After the frog dissection, students will better understand how all the body systems such as the: cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, muscular, skeletal, and the digestive systems all work together to support not only the frogs body, but theirs.
