I teach the most amazing group of little humans. I am a first grade teacher in a public school in the northern panhandle of West Virginia. I feel especially blessed to have such a fantastic group of kids this year. They are bright, inquisitive, and willing to embrace new concepts.
My students have an incredible capacity for learning, and they eagerly dive into everything.
The motivation for learning that my students possess is remarkable. They are excited about everything from phonics to engineering. While my students share a great aptitude for learning, they are also incredibly compassionate. My kids are generous and kind to every student in the room, and they consistently teach me the meaning of unconditional love and acceptance.
My Project
I have students that require special accommodations in my classroom. I teach students with processing disorders that greatly benefit from listening to stories. I also have the pleasure of teaching children with visual impairments, and listening to stories and music is not only educational, but calming. I am asking for a mobile listening center with storage as well as some store and connect book bins to organize our materials. My students can also use the Listening Center to access their math and social studies lessons on the Ipads.
This would be an incredible gift because the children would have a designated place to quietly access stories, music, curriculum, and text.
Having a Listening Center in my classroom would be like having our own little digital library right there in the room.
