Ms. Ashman from Milwaukee WI is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need these binders in order to organize their day-to-day practice work and to review their past assessments before exams.

My students are excited to learn more about the world that they live in through studying Biology and Chemistry! They are curious and enjoy doing hands on activities in class to explore concepts in both subject areas.
Some examples of this include:
Every one of my classes are responsible for watering and taking care of a plant during their class period each day. They have taken on this challenge and get excited about this responsibility at the beginning of class each day!
During the first week, both Biology and Chemistry classes were able to conduct a water quality lab using the water that the students drink everyday at their school, water samples that students brought in from their house/community, and water samples obtained from Lake Michigan. The students were able to use lab techniques to collect data on the temperature, pH, and nitrate levels of these samples and participated in discussions about access to high quality drinking water in their community, our nation (Flint, MI!), and the rest of our world. They interacted with the scientific method by developing a class hypothesis, collecting and analyzing data, and drawing conclusions based on the results of their lab!
The only thing I am asking for within my project is for binders for each and every one of my students .
My freshman students are coming into their high school experience needing extra organizational guidance in order to succeed and to obtain the credits to move on to the 10th grade.
Their first year is imperative for setting up these students for success and putting them on the pathway to graduation.
These binders will be used DAILY and will help these students master the skills and concepts necessary in order to succeed in their first exposure to a secondary science classroom.
