My students need an electronic pencil sharpener, whiteboard markers and erasers, post it notes, white out, sharpie markers, loose leaf paper, composition notebooks, pencils, and a wireless remote presentation clicker to begin the school year.
My students come from extremely diverse backgrounds in the Charlotte area, ranging from high poverty to lottery magnet students. They are intelligent, eager to learn, and passionate towards the various STEAM classes and activities offered.
They have various learning styles and will be immersed in Personalized Learning initiatives our school is continuing this year.
Our population has been working diligently these past years to increase academic grades and standardized assessment scores, as well as becoming well-rounded characters and preparing for the future.
We are continuing to strive for this goal in the upcoming school year, with only more improvements and best practices being implemented.
My Project
The start of a new school year is approaching and what better way to begin than with a fresh classroom loaded with the necessary supplies needed. These materials were chosen because they are the most commonly used in my classroom and will help make the classroom run smoother if students know they are available to them when needed.
Many of my students cannot afford these basic school supplies and I want to provide them for them to avoid anxiety, embarrassment, and help them focus on the main goal, learning!
