My Project

My sixth grade students are inquisitive, energetic, curious and ready to be independent. They are eager to learn, apply their knowledge and show others what they have accomplished. Growing your own vegetables is a perfect way to do it all. In this project students will work together to grow vegetable starts that will be planted into an existing home garden or start their own at home in a pot. Students will then take care of their plants all summer in hopes of producing their own vegetables. Students will learn what it takes to grow your own food, how to care for something long term and learn that hard work pays off.
